Ok so I’ve been searching to see what type of wheels and tires I want to put on my 17 power wagon. I can never seem to get a straight answer if certain sizes will fit.

I like the RS2 Rockstar wheels..either 18” or 20”
For tires I’m thinking the 35” toyo r/t

I’m going to list a few different sizes and hopefully someone here can help me out on what will fit.

20”x 9” wheel with 35” x 12.5” toyo rt tires
18”x 9” wheel with 35” x 12.5” toyo rt tires

Will either of those fit? If not what size wheels/tires do I need to go with?

What is the offset of the wheels? They will fit but depending on the offset, there may be some rubbing.

Both will work. The overall tire size is the kicker. The 2500HD base comes with 18x9 steel

On the 20” they offer either a 18 offset or a -12 offset.
Not really sure what that means though.

Thanks for the help!

Positive offset sticks inside wheel well and negative offset sticks out more or less lol

I would hate any kind of rubbing. Which one of the 2 offsets would be better for no rubbing?

The lower the number, the farther they will stick out. You want the +18 offset. Any negative offset will stick out farther and rub when you turn the wheel, unless you have it lifted above stock height. My wheels are 18x9.5 and +6 offset with 35s. Check the pictures on my build page. A +18 will still stick out a little. The stock wheels are +47.

Yes it all depends on offset. If you go with +18 or higher offset u should be ok. Whether the wheel is 20 or 18. The size of wheel doesn't matter as long as both are same width with same offset.

Here are some pics of basically what you are proposing. 20X9 Rockstar II with a +18 offset. 35" Toyo M/T
I can post more pics if you would like. But the +18 offset will have the tire stick out about half an inch from the stock flares and the only rubbing I"ve experienced was turning full on a down grade going backwards. That has only happen twice and i cant seem to get any rubbing when going forward, even with the sway-bars disconnected and turning. hope this helps

The rubbing question has been answered. If you want to wheel your PW off-road, get the 18” or a 17” wheel. 20s are for the street.

In my search for the ultimate mud and winter mountain snowflake tire design I found that General Tire has recently come out with a Grabber X3 MT and a Grabber A/T X. Also, AMP came out with a new mud terrain.

I run General Altimax Arctic on my cars and so I had an interest. Read some excellent reviews on the X3 for off roading, but unfortunately neither design comes in my preferred 285 75R17 size. It's a new design of tires options for the 35 12.50R17 size range though, but then the MT doesn't have the mountain snowflake as was stated in the initial reports.

Another new MT though in the 35 12.50R17 size that does have the mountain snowflake rating is the AMP Mud Terrain Attack (M/T A). It is an ultra aggressive mud tire. This is the only MT tire that I know of outside of the somewhat lesser aggressive Duratrac A/T which meets certain northern state and Canada mandatory winter tire road requirements. I kind of taking a liking to it even though it's wider than my preferred 285 width for winter driving of the Power Wagon. It meets the winter driving traction laws and is still an aggressive mud terrain like the Toyo, whereas, the Toyo doesn't have the mountain snowflake.
