So i was having an issue with very little air volume coming out of my vents when the fan was turned all the way up. So last night I took my glove box out and reached up and found the door busted and laying down covering up. Everything. To my surprise I was able to get the door out without taking any of the dash apart. That fixed my flow issue but today it was 90 degrees out and I turned on my A/C and I get no cold air? Is this because the door is out? Or is it a separate issue and I need to check my a/c?

That might have been the blend door, IE you're pulling air through your heater core too.

I think it might have been the blend door. It was pretty big. Would this door if broken block all the air to the vents? I was barely getting a whisper of air out of it before I took it out.

Update: I just watched a YouTube video of heater greater and he clearly shows were the blend doors are and points to the record door being all the way to the right in the passenger side above the fan. That is the door I pulled out. So I'm wondering if the record door has anything to do with me not getting cold air.

It shouldn't on my '06 I did the same thing and didn't have an issue with A/C but it did have a draft, meaning that passengers in my truck could feel a breeze as I was driving.

Yea, it really shouldn't. Technically, you'd just be drawing in the cooler inside air.

Maybe truck covering the opening with duct tape and see if it gets better.

I'll try it again and see if I can get some cold air coming out, might just need to recharge the system.

So while sitting in my driveway I had the hood up truck running and AC on Max. I never could get the condenser fan to start. Can I assume this is why I'm not getting any cold air?

Was the compressor clutch engaging? If so was it cycling on and off, or just staying engaged for a length of time?

I'm not sure. I'm not totally sure where it is? would it be on the front of the engine near the top with a wheel for the belt to spin? I have to say I didn't hear any clutch engage or disengage.

I had the same problem on my '02. I did the same as you, and the air flow increased 10 fold. No cold air though. I looked under the hood and found that a plug was loose. Cable tied it closed, and the issue was fixed. The clip broke.

well that would be great if that's the case. I'll try that before I do anymore. I was told by the dealer to go to autozone and buy one of those recharge kits for $15 and try charging the system before anything else. He said the condenser and compresser wouldn't come on if the system was low on refridgerant. Couldn't hurt but I'll look for the clip first. thanks
