I'm looking for a bush beater. Just Deer to Moose kinda thing. Price is right.
Looking for a .270 for the wife also.

    Nice looking stock.

I've never owned one but I've shot one a few times and it's a well made rifle.

I can speak to the Vortex scope as I own 2 of their optics and they are a great scope. Having one on the Ruger is a plus IMHO.

    Good luck with your choice.

I use one in 270. My bolt will randomly come out when cycling. It's accurate enough, and light to pack around. I like the trigger. Have mine topped with a Nikon Prostaff in 3x9. Can't really
Complain. $350 out the door on the rifle, $190 on the glass.

Friend shot mine like it enough to buy one in 30-06.

Thanks, sounds like if I get this one I'll be happy with it.
Going to look around more, Christmas is a bit away so I have time to look.
Got an old British .303 with a duct taped stock and an old Italian Military Caracano 6.5x52mm. Still taking down Deer, Elk and Moose with single shots.
Time for a serious upgrade for wifey and I.

That's a good lookin' rifle, Ruger has always been good in my experience. 308 is a good round and Vortex is A+! What are the firearm laws in the great white north (ie. types, mag capacity etc...?

The stock improved the cheek weld tremendously. I ended up bedding it as well.

For the price of the stock im pleasantly surprised how well it's holding up in the bush.
