Curious if anyone here might have this AR. Considering it as one both the misses and myself can shoot just for fun. She's not used to the larger calibers yet so something small first and get a larger one later.
I already know the .556 will be to much for here since I've shot M14A2s in the past and the pistol is a S&W SD40 and she can't shoot it.
Wondering if anyone can shed some light

Wow okay definitely great bit of knowledge. I knew S&W firearms work better with specific types of ammo. My SD40 in particular is one that's finicky with cheaper ammo. But this is a different story.
On a side not got any insight on the mossberg version it wasn't second choice here

Friend had one. As stated above it had cycling issues a lot. Haven't heard about the mossbergs

Very strange. I googled reviews and stuff on it and couldn't find anywhere of people saying that. All only good reviews but nothing was newer than August. Where as that article was September. Wonder if maybe a bad batch of guns were released

I have one personally. I have a magpul carbine stock and grip on it with a red dot site. Its a fun little toy pretty accurate. I am garbage at cleaning my guns since when i get home from the range im too lazy.
That being said, ive shots over 1000 rounds through it and havent had one cycling issue. All federal ammo
no recoil at all and sounds like a bb gun

Good to hear I've been doing research into it and there seems to be a common thing correct ammo and cleaning. Also saw a video about bending the I believe it was the fin on the guide pin for the extractor problem

I own one and it seemed to be a bit picky at first with extracting the cheaper ammo. The Remington Golden Bullet, Winchester Wildcat & Aquila had a lot of FTE problems.

I switched over to Federal Champion bulk 325 pk, CCI MiniMag & Winchester SuperX and haven't had a problem since.

I also ran across a simple extractor tweak you can do to reduce FTE problems.

    I like the M&P 15-22 a lot.

Yeah that's the video I saw or one similar to it and I run federal through my SD40 already cause it doesn't FTF as much as the Winchesters did

Why not just stick with the time proven reliable 10/22 platform?
