What do you guys prefer or think is better. A scat stroker kit or Manley stroker kit? Or are they both pretty much the same and based on preference?

Definetly Manley. I would still have a machine shop check the crank balance because the factory only balances to a tolerance and it’s not always good enough for high performance. The scat kit comes with lower quality I beam rods and to upgrade to better ones the price goes way up. I’ve heard Eagle makes a good kit for the price also, Summit has their stuff. And one last one is Calling Inertia Motorsports, their kit ran about $3000 and Stu has a great reputation and customer service behind his stuff. I was going with his before my machine shop got me a good deal on the Manley kit

Either. I used a Scat on a 383, and many have I know that race all the time.
But like ANY pre-assembled kit, Id check crank, rods etc for tolerances.

Manley does seem to be the favorite but I have seen a lot of Scat products take a beating without even blinking. I think they are both very good products but Manley is probably the more tested and proven of the brands

And I did forget to mention that I never found a Manley stroker kit. I just looked up individually the pistons, rods and crank so the Manley stuff will be linked to individual parts
