Yesterday I got this message in the DIC display while driving home; "Service Electronic Braking System." Also got the the electronic stability control light in the dash. Drove it today and the light remains on. I don't have any problems with the functionality of the brakes. Any ideas? Thanks! PS; this is a 2017 Ram 2500 crew cab 6.7 diesel.

Hi Checkmate99,

Sorry to hear about this! If you decide to visit your local dealership for further diagnosis I'd be happy to offer assistance if needed. Just send us a PM with your VIN and let me know.

I'm experiencing the same issue. Took it into the dealership and they said I need a new ABS module. Was told it was safe to drive, but I would have no ABS until fixed. They will have to order the part. Truck doesn't even have 1000 miles on the clock yet.

Has anyone experienced this issue combined with the dreaded instrument cluster / shifter lights staying on all night?? Mine started with the latter then the service electronic braking message started coming on every time I reconnect my battery. Preparing to take mine in for service - 2016 Ram 1500 Sport. I guess I should consider myself lucky that I've gotten to 120,000 miles with no issues until now. Seems like most people are experiencing this stuff right after purchasing!

I have this warning coming on yesterday. I opened the fuse box and just started pressing on all the fuses and relays and the light went off and I just drove around it isn't on. Not sure if it was just a loose fuse but so far so good. I realize this is an older thread, but just in case anyone is having this issue. The ABS fuse is a 40 Amp fuse, I checked it and pulled it out and reseated it. It seems like some fuses were not in all the way. We shall monitor and see if it fixes the issue. By the way the brakes work, but ABS doesn't kick in when that light is on.

That wasn't a permanent fix, not sure why it worked short term. Took it in to the dealership repair shop and they said it was the ABS Control Module and it is on back order. I got the truck back so I have something to drive for now. I sure hope they can figure this out, I read a few more threads where they replaced almost everything in the ABS system and it still didn't fix it. :-(

Now I’m having this issue… 2016 sport 5.7 4x4. Doesn’t happen all the time and goes away after I turn off truck. No codes. Usually happens during highway speeds.

Wanna see a nightmare? I've been dealing with this for over a year

ABS/Traction control lights on. A brief history. 2016 2500 6.7/auto longhorn

Issue started over a year ago. Lights would come on intermittently. Dealership scanned it, driver rear speed sensor. I replaced the sensor twice and it didn't stop happening. After banging my head researching the forums and testing wiring, fuses etc. I dropped it off at a very reputable local shop. They had the truck for 6 weeks. Replaced the hydraulic control unit and abs module. Didnt work, rams guideline says replace it again, didnt work. And again. Reset PCM, rewired the rear sensor, and banged their head. Eventually they gave up. Magically a week later the lights turned off and stayed off for quite some time. Flash forward to 2 weeks ago, lights flashed after slamming on the brakes in the rain with a trailer. Went off, came back on the next day, and are still lit. I replaced the sensor again today thinking maybe it actually failed this time, no luck. So back to scouring forums for the same issues. Checked the tone ring for play while I had the sensor out, and it was fine. When I pulled the sensor out today it was loaded with grease and possible shavings which I don't recall before.

I'm at my wits end, and tired of chasing a ghost issue. It's always the driver rear that throws the code, never specific conditions. I've dumped alot of money and time into this, and been without the truck way too many times. Tried to file a claim with FCA a year ago and got ghosted. If it wasn't for loving every other part of the truck, I would have sold it along time ago.
