service shifter message

My 2015 1500 eco diesel is getting frequent chimes, sometimes generating the " service shifter" message, sometimes just a chime. been to the dealer for two attempts. but it still prevails. no stored messages. anybody have any insight?

You will have to do a live diagnostic while it's doing it.

the problem is that if I get the message, it lasts for the prescribed two seconds and goes away without a code for the tech to read.

I got that message once when I was messing around with connector behind the dash with the key in the on position. I re-seated the connector and rest the code and all is good. Might try doing that? When I down loaded the code it came up as a "No Specific definition" in the dialogue even though the CEL was illuminated.

Get your battery and alternator checked out. Low voltage will cause this error. I get it when plowing and lifting the plow when I hit max pressure and voltage drops.

Took my 2013 to the dealer today for a Service Shifter message at start up. Need to replace Electronic Shifter assembly, part is on back order.
