shift kit limits?

Ive been wantimg to get the transgo shift kit for my 96 auto but i was wondering how much extra power i can go with after its installed. Im thinkin a #11 fuel plate and who knows what else. Ive seen guys say they have up to 300 with just a shift kit but idk. Your input is appreciated, thanks.

the torque converter is the weakest link. the shift kit by itself isnt going to do much for being able to hold more power.
