Wanted to see what the group thought of this truck I'm interested in. Had my eye on this 06 2500 5.9 for a while now at the local dealership, talked to a salesman about it. Told him the price was kinda high, tried telling me they adjusted the price for the lift kit and tires it has on it(spacer lift). This was a month ago, went back today to take a better look at it, noticed the rear lift was made of what looks like 3 pieces of leaf spring cut down and used as lift blocks on each side. Also there is no center pin on the leafs. This is a dodge dealership. I like this truck how should I go about getting the dealer to fix this if I decide this is the truck for me?

Tell him straight out. Being blunt with dealers always works. If you give them an ultimatum (not outlandish) theyll usually provide. Tell them you looked it up and thats not safe to have the center pin missing. Lol lies work too.

Those very mods they want to charge you for, will be the very same mod that warranty work will be denied over. Mods decrease value, not increase..

I told the guy straight up I wasn't going to pay extra for a spacer lift, and that it definetly didnt justify what they were asking for it. The price has gone down a bit, gotta go down a bit more before I sign any papers.

Hold your ground, buddy. If it's been there for a couple of months, they'll start itching to sell it.

It's got 112k on it, when I first saw it it was 28999, they've dropped it 2 grand so far. The nada value for clean retail is 26999. Trade in is 22, I'm sure they paid less than that. It's a good looking truck, but it's got some chips and scratches, not a huge deal but enough to negotiate a lower selling price.

Looks to be just leveled
Also looks like they marked it as a manual transmission to get attention

Yeah that's why I told him I was paying extra for the "lift" . Think whoever does their internet updating just cut and paste their adds, seen a few that were mis labeled

Is it just me or is $26k way too high for an 06 truck? Does the diesel add that much more value? Wouldn't an 06 Hemi go for, maybe, $10-$12k with 112k miles?

Maybe my "KBB" guesstimates aren't calibrated.

Blue book on that truck here is closer to 23k
If it was actually a manual trans it'd be closer to 25k maybe even a bit more

Cummins engine option is $6,000+ from the factory and they hold that value

06/07 5.9s are in very high demand not only cause they don't have emissions but the have tuning parameters that 03-05 do not

Where I live 4x4 is automatically a 4-6k increase in price. They have another 06 that is only 2wd but only has 40k on it and they are asking 24 for it.

It's a nice looking truck. I think its crazy how much the truck market varies from state to state. That would not be a great deal where I live but it sounds like it is where you are at. If you keep your vehicles for a long time then I would say go for it. That truck will last a long time if cared for properly and the 5.9's get much better fuel mileage than the 6.7's do. I'm sure you can still get them down more on the price if you go in ready to do the deal. Good luck and let us know if you get it!
