I have 99 ram 5.2 with 112k miles on it. I have no check engine light on. I feel like truck has no power, I can't even peel out when I floor it from a stop in rain. When I pull a trailer with a car it has absolutely no power to pass or go up a hill. Also pings when going up slight and large hills when I give it for gas. Any suggestions?

I have not done the plenum repair. I'm going to check compression and do a vacuum test. I'm thinking that is my issue with a clogged cat. I just got the truck like 3 months ago.

If it is the cat it will likely be bright orange after a drive if it is plugged. We had this happen on our 98 Ram that thing should have started a fire but somehow didn’t.

Would you say about a 30 min drive?

I’d be checking plenum. I did the plenum on my 97 and changed the front o2 at the same time along with some new plugs. Depending on how bad it is you may need new cat. I ended up cutting mine out since it was an off-road truck. Made a heck of a difference

If its the cat then you won't be able to rev past 3Krpm usually, unbolting a downpipe will quickly fix the issue.

You didn't mention this before but how tall are your tires and what gearing does your truck have?
Tall tires and tall gears make for a very gutless truck.
