if what i found is correct then 285X75R17E would be metric. can anyone confirm?

Yeah, 11.22 wide, 33.84 tall. Here's a great site to get tire specs AND compare sizes at the same time.

https://www.tacomaworld.com/tirecalc?tires=265-70r17-285-75r17

I've already punched in the two sizes for you. You can enter any sizes you want, including the non-metric ones. But you cant mix a sizing like 35/40r17 or something like that. lol.

Also, I wasn't paying attention, but I'll assume you're on stock 265/70r17 right now.

Excellent. Will a 3inch level make this easier or should i stick with the 2 inch?

AFAIK, 3" level will make you perfectly level or the tiniest bit ass down. 2" level will leave you with some rake. 2.5" level will be perfectly level or the tiniest bit of rake.

Actually, eff all this, go out to your truck on level pavement and measure from the ground to the top of the wheel wells all around. Figure out the difference front-rear, and go with the level that will give you the stance you want.

But to answer your question, I'd say it would be 'easier' with a 3" level to fit bigger tires.

it shows 2 inch difference but idk how level the ground is. i cant stand the rake..it looks good on my fathers 83 el camino but not on my truck haha. i think im gonna go with 3 inch.
is this a good one?

IDK, man, I'd heavily suggest taking this to the 4th gen lifted forum. Not only am I not qualified to answer this, I'm personally going in the other direction, as well as driving a 3rd gen, not a 4th gen.

General consensus, though, is to get shocks all around, too. Better ride, matching equipment, and the proper length for the front lift you'll have.

Here's the general lifted forum.: http://www.ramforum.com/forums/lifted.40/

Here's the specific, and pinned, leveling guide thread: http://www.ramforum.com/threads/guide-to-leveling-wheel-and-tire-sizing-for-06-4wd-ram-1500s.70918/

It says 06 in the title, but it's for "06+" rams. Which is when they started with coilovers, I believe. I know it's for 4x4's but I'm sure you can ask there if you don't feel like making your own thread in the general forum, but I suggest you DO make your own thread, as you may slightly annoy others with a long @$$ bunch of questions about something you want to do in someone else's thread.

*cough cough*

{{But who am I to talk, I'm real bad with that ****... lol.}}
