You can easily squeeze 6.5 where the 5 1/4 are at

No spacers, the basket is the same size as a 5 1/4, i had to drill 1 hole for mounting in each door but its easy

dont buy from crutchfield. good info on there but sky high prices.

dash speakers i believe are actually 3.5". Thats what i used and they dropped in perfectly. I also used 6.5 in both front and rear. Front needed an adapter, but one can be made out of mdf if you dont wanna pay for one. Rear didnt need an adapter.

Why did you use 6.5 in the front instead of 6x9?

honestly i only buy like the dash install or such to get the free speaker adapters
but lately i have just been using my own quick disconnects

the round speaker has a better refresh rate compared to the oval
so round will sound better

good info alex. yeah the 6.5's are generally a better speaker for most types of music.

and most 6x9's are for bass and midrange
so when you see the 4 ways w/ 2 little speakers coming out the middle you now know why it's a 4 way

it depends on what kind of sound you want, but generally high end 6.5 is better than high end 6x9. high end anything is better than lower end anything though.
