Can someone tell me what sizes are in a 1997 ext cab?

Front door - 5 1/4" round

Kick panel - Just about any size component with a kick panel enclosure. 3.5" is a great size for this area.

Rear - With the right adapters, any size from 5 1/4" to 6 1/2" round

Nope, the front doors are 6x9". I don't remember the rear size, but I think you're right on that one, and I don't have have any in the kick panels on my 95.

No, the front doors are 6x9 stock. If you have the infinity system you'll need to mount the amp on the door. There's a DYI you can look up for the infinity system.

I don't have the infinity so I'm assuming they'll fit right in?

They will fit for the most part. Some are deeper than others. Like my pioneers needed half inch spacers

hmmm...guess ya can't rely on the factory service manuals as the front is listed as a 5.25" round. I wonder if that only applied to the base system and others were available.

The pioneers were too deep?

Yes. I have pioneer 4 ways and the driver magnet actually is almost touching my window rail with the half inch spacers. The speakers still mount using the factory holes.

Was looking at some kickers on amazon said shallow mount for doors. Anyone with experience on this brand?

Bunch of the 4th gen guys are going with the kickers from mopar and they seem to like them
