Hey guys, new to the site here but hoping to get some help, now and in the future.

So I have a 2002 Ram 1500 5.9L. Long story short I had to replace the ring and pinion (along with some other odds and in), done. I have it 95% put back together. But the problem I have is...axles, side spider gears, and shims are all installed. I can get the small spider gears in but there is no room to fit in the small shim/spacer under the small gears. My brother is a truck guy but never really had to mess with differentials much but said there should be a small amount of "wiggle" room on those small spider gears in order to get the gear oil around them and to not burn them up. When all the gears are in the housing they are very tight.

- Any ideas how I gain back that small space between the small gears to place in the shims/spacers?

What carrier do you have? The service manual shows disassembly and assembly.
