Got in my truck tonight, go down the road and she is just squeaking like crazy, sounded like the whole underneath needed to be greased. Not sure where it's coming from, but it is loud. Could be a shock, body mount, who knows, guess I'll be doing some investigating this weekend.

Could the leveling kit be causing it? Maybe finally putting too much stress on the joints and stuff?

Well, James told me today that when he picked up the tires at the body shop for the mustang, he told them about the truck squeaking. This body shop owner is a friend of ours and has worked on my truck. He said it was a common problem that he has seen but that it's not the shocks. They weren't able to get into a conversation about what he thought it was though. Guess I need to go back there and see what he says.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's not it, if it was I think it would have been a lot sooner too. James is thinking maybe it's a body mount.

could it be the bfi spring?

oh that BFI spring is longggggggg gone lol right now 2 heavy duty zip ties are holding the BFI to the fender.

Did some driving around tonight and some pushing and jumping on the Ram. It's not the shocks, it's not the body mounts, it's squeaking when moved side to side while the truck is in motion, like hitting a bump or something like that. We are now thinking it's the u-joints in the driveshaft. I am going to call the dealer tomorrow to see if I can maybe get it looked at Thursday when I am off work.

What about the ball joints? I think they might need to be re-greased. Not sure if the factory ones have the grease fittings or not. I know on my 2nd gen after i took it mudding i completely wore out my entire front suspension. My truck sounded pitiful and was squeaking like CRAZY! I had to replace inner and outer tie rod ends and upper and lower ball joints. after fixing all of those the squeaking was gone! Hope this helps ya girly

That could be another possibility or maybe the tie rods, not real sure. I'm going to take it to the dealer tomorrow to find out, hopefully it's not too much $$ lol

^^^ LOL

Anyways, went to the dealer today, told them the problem, they said it was probably a u-joint and would check it out to see. After 2 hours of investigating, I was told the front shocks are bad and that is where the squeaking was coming from. I also have a loose outer tie rod on the driver side. Best thing tho, is that they didn't charge me a dime for this. =) So now I gotta do some shock shopping as the OEM shocks run 210 a piece. Told them that was way too much and I would put aftermarket shocks on it. Probably going to have them replace tie rod tho.

LOL that's what I've heard ;)

Dealer will charge 240 installed for the tie rod. I was kinda hoping it was going to be the u-joints because those are covered under the powertrain warranty. oh well. Guess the other mods I was thinking about doing will just have to wait for now.

Yep that is for sure. And that 240 for the tie rod was pretty much what that painted grill was going to cost me LOL guess I will have to wait on that.
