ok so my 98 is having starting issues. When you try to start it the key turns and lights and radio come on but the engine won’t turn over. When you beat on the steering column a little it will start no problem usually. Any thoughts?

Take the plastic cover off the steering column and inspect the wiring to and from the ignition switch, it may be damaged. If thats not the cause, make sure the steering wheel harness connector is firmly plugged in. Other than that, you may be looking at an ignition switch.

I was think the ignition switch and I’m probably going to replace it this weekend but I wasn’t sure if there would be something else there that might be the issue or not.
