every now and then the wheel gets somewhat stiff when turning and i was just wondering what could be some causes of this and what things I should look at to correct the problem.

I would look to the power steering pump. I didn't notice this in your upgraded suspension list. It may be starting to go out. Fluid may be low or over used.

Any noise involved? Certain road type when you turn and it acts up?

Steering gear?

Outside temps cold? Could be viscosity change related to cold temps or old/poor fluid.

Try flushing your power steering fluid and see if that helps. You'll need a suction gun and a 1/2 gal of ps fluid.

Could be a bad idler arm or...

Worse case scenario...gearbox dying.

so to change the fluid, from what I understand the procedure is...

use a suction gun/turkey baster to suck what is in the resovour out

add more fluid-turn truck on-turn wheel a few times-suck fluid out-repeat

comments??

and anyone have a brand of fluid to recommend? I watched a guy on youtube put atf+4 in his power steering res?

I have heard you can use atf+4 but I would think any normal power steering fluid would be good.

Did flushing the PS fluid fix your issue? Mine is doing about the same thing. especially when its cold outside.
