i guess it would really depend on how deep the 8" subs are. i know i could have made my box a couple inches shallower and would have worked just fine. i was originally planning on having more speakers in that sub box but just never got around to it. i have been pretty happy with the sound from it. i almost want to install an amp and subs in my 93 or 89 but can't find myself a cheap enough amp.

If the sub is firing up it'll be towards the cealing, I'm short so the seat is all the way forward, do you think I can go 8-9" deep at 13" tall? And what's the max width?

you might be able to go 8-9"deep with the seat all the way forward. i got my seat all the way with that sub so it might be possible. i think the max width might be about 66". i haven't really measured the width inside the cab. i have only measured the box.

Hey, just wanted to update this, I'm an idiot, the speakers in the doors are 6x9's, I got them back in October (I think?). I bought a pair of Kicker DS5x7's / 6x8's off craiglist and they where too small, so I sold 'em for a bit more than I paid and got some new Pioneer 6x9's. Video of it here, never mind my babbling, :D :

You can see my installation of my Pioneer DEH-150MP in this thread:

I was gonna tell you they were 6x9s but thought you would figure it out yourself. I just upgraded mine to the Rockford middle of the road 3 way 6x9s and a set of remote Hertz tweeters and it rocks.

how much of a budget are you on? 6x9's are good for the money but 6.5's with independent tweeters set up will be better sounding. the new 2 and 3 way speakers with the tweeters mounted on top limit the movement of the cone. The odd shape of the 6x9 produces uneven amounts of bass. 6.5's have a circular cone so all the bass will be even. but price is the number one point so 6x9's with 2 and 3 way are cheaper and will offer decent sound in the truck.

Pretty tight budget, pretty happy with the cheap Pioneer TS-A6966R pair I installed, gonna put a slim sub in behind the seat too, plus I don't really listen to bassy music, so it's not a huge deal.

Can you support these statements with sonic reference charts using a certified system analyzer or a link to the charts? I'm curious because I'm a television system, and audio system designer, integrator, and engineer and have never heard this.
