So I posted a question on this forum earlier this week asking for help, trying to get some ideas on how to install aftermarket speakers in an Infinity system without hacking/buying a new harness. Well the results are in and I got it. With some help from a video Dodgedude pointed out to me.

The real question is gonna be: how does it sound? ;)

This is exactly what I wanted to do with mine before my CD deck died. :(

Well considering I had no drivers side sound, probably at least a little better :p. I did plug it in though, and let me tell you it sounded AMAZING. I cant wait to clean up the doors while I have them off and put it all back together

I bet. lol
My stock Infinity speakers thump pretty good, but at certain bass levels they distort. Where did you get yours and do you have a link?

Honestly I just spent a TON of time on crutchfield. They have a great compare screen so you can check out every spec on a speaker right down to the materials its made of. I ended up deciding on Pioneer TS-A1375R 5-1/4" 3-Way TS Series Coaxial 5.25" for my rear speakers, and the Pioneer TS-A6965R 6" x 9" (6x9) 3-Way TS Series Coaxial for the front.

I havnt had them all in yet, but the preview I got gives me a good feeling. I should know later this weekend how good they are. But the specs for them are solid and as far as I could tell they were the best bang for your buck.

Im actually considering buying another set of the 5.25's and putting them in that other hole in the door. The way the Infinity rear speaker is wired it allows for a second speaker.

But to answer your questions I ended up buying them new off craigslist from sonic electronics for 45 bucks and free shipping. Which is way better then going to walmart and getting the ****** versions for 50

I've spent a bunch of time on Crutchfield as well...it's overwhelming and I just decided that I'd worry about it when the time actually came to replace my stuff. lol I had intended to replace just the speakers first, now it looks like I'll be doing the head before the speakers.

Ya I'm not to concerned about that. It won't stick out enough either to be 100% upright either. Theres a utube video with it installed on a 99. I think it looks great. I like that you can keep the screen in and have a basic radio. I'm just concerned with quality
