I went camping with some buddies recently and I'll be honest I've never really payed much thought into getting anything better than a simple Wally world maglight.

I'm shining around my LED 3D cell maglight and my friend pulls this little flashlight out and says watch this.

Oh my God, I ordered one as soon as I got home.

    Here's a link.
Streamlight - Flashlights: Stinger, Survivor, Litebox, Fire Vulcan, Propolymer, Twin-Task, Tactical | Streamlight

    Here's what I bought.
    ProTac® Series - ProTac HL® 3 | Streamlight

Stream light is a good brand. Bright and reliable, but tend to be pretty spendy. I bought what I call a poor mans stream light from homedepot. Will have to check the brand but it works great 3D cell like the old mag lights. It has bright, dim and strobe just like SL but for less than 30 bucks. I work the graveyard shift as a LEO and it is one of my best and most reliable tools.

    Streamlights are badass.
But they are a lot like the Rigid Industries of the LED bar world.
You're paying 200% more for the brand name / warranty.

I've owned 3 stream lights. I use them for work. They take abuse. Some time ago I went to Costco and found a set of 2 lights for $29 and bought them for around for house. WOW, they are really bright!!! It's a single LED that uses 3 c cells.

Man that's awesome. I think if I get anymore I'd like one of the lanterns and a spot light. Mine is so bright you could use it as a less lethal weapon, which I guess the strope is really for.

I have a stream light. being a mechanic, the flashlight in my personal opinion was the most important tool. I needed it to be tough and be able to survive a hard life I was gonna give it. ive had mine for 2 years now and love it. if your looking to have the brightest one. don't bother buying a streamlight tho. lol. they come out with a brighter one every 3 months it seems lol. but they are excellent lights.

Yeah, I'm thinking about down sizing to a smaller one myself. Maybe even a poly, the brightness of the 1100 lumens is just crazy for normal everyday stuff. I'd like to have a decent one to just stick under the sink, but I do have a couple maglights that are nice. But again they are pretty heavy and a little poly that's just as bright as those would be pretty cool.
