Hi all,

Just purchase my first 2003 Dodge Ram 2500. It's that time for an oil change and I am thinking about switching to full synthetic. Is has 72000 miles on it currently. Is there any reason why I should make the switch and is there and problems that could Ardis's from switching?

Welcome to the site and congrats on the Ram! We have an Amsoil vendor on the site, his name is Heath, he can point you in the right direction as far as what you need.

I have heard about people having issues with leaks if they switch, not saying it will, but the seals sometimes have issues.

I've switched all my vehicles to Syn as soon as I've gotten them. They've all had less miles though. Never had any problems either way. I have heard about leaks from changing to a syn later in life. Kinda the same rule with flushing the trans. If you do it from the start, you're fine. If you wait till there's close to 100k, you're gonna have problems.
