I called customer support at Equalizer today, and they said the shank length didn't change the hitch rating. I tend to doubt that, just realizing the tonge wieght has just been moved back 6 inches. Luckily for me, the hitch is rated up to 10K and my trailer dry wieght is only 4600lbs. I have another trip scheduled in mid August and definitely pick this up before then.
