This morning I noticed when adjusting the settings to defroster it was not opening the vent for defrost, even when the defrost light was on, still not working, I then tried the floor, did not switch to that vent, switched it to floor and facing and did not work either. its blowing heat but only on facing and will not adjust to any other vent. would that be the temperature control module/component?

That would be your blend doors or actuators. Take a flashlight and look under dash, if you see the actuators moving then its the door/s. If they aren’t moving then it could be the switch or the actuator itself. But it sounds like the 3gen typical broken blend door dilemma, pretty easy fix but time consuming.

Gotcha, where am I looking exactly? And do I need to be adjusting controls when seeing if it's moving?
