So I got the build sheet on my 2004 Ram 2500. I always knew it was a heavy duty Hemi but what else can you tell me about the rest of the build? Transmission, gears, accessories, etc...

What's a XBSS Pickup Box?

What would a truck with the same build sheet go for today?

Well its all written right there. You have 3.73 gears which are good for towing and a 5 spd auto tranny (4 w/OD). Not sure if you have the 6 or 8 ft bed but sounds like you got the same package as meImageUploadedByTapatalk1406468683.173998.jpg

i hated the 3.73's in my 2500 for towing. They work great with a diesel, but with an HD hemi truck 4.56's are the way to go. Puts you right into the power band and makes towing a breeze.

Yeah, I was curious about the gears. My truck lacks the "umph" when cruising around and needing to take off quick off the line. Yes, I understand the 2500 is built for hauling but I do like the idea of getting more torque out of the Hemi during quick starts.

Not according to amazons "check your vehicle". How'd you find that one? Oh.. and check moes. Easy website to use and good prices.

Np. When I get my 4.56s theyll be from moes.

What's the level of effort to swap out gears? I'm pretty handy and did almost the entire front end myself along with various other preventive maintenance tasks (rotors, pads, shocks, spark plugs, cleaned throttle body, etc). All that to say, I'm not a certified mechanic but am a quick learner. Just don't want to jump into something beyond my abilities.
