In order for me to pass a TX inspection, I will have to have a second set of tail lights if I tint my current ones. Is there a removable insert, or something that I can remove when going in to do an inspection.

If not, I found a shade overlay, where I use a mist of water to adhere it to the lamp, and I could peel this off when I go in for inspections. It costs $15 shipped, so I would have to do it yearly.

Sounds like the film you found would work the best for ya. Most of the do it yourself ones I have seen have been using the Night Shades paint that is perm.

Didn't know you couldn't pass inspection with them. The ones I have coming are considered legal (visible from 400/500 ft in daylight), would they still not pass? (Sorry for jacking your thread. :p)

There are tinted covers to clip over the tail lights and then take them off when you want too.

Mine need it BAD. Loved my old color matched tails. Those were sweet.

Some shops are strict, and if its a shop begging for money they will fail you on anything, past experience.

Good to know. We take it through a dealership due to my tint. My family knows a lot of people at a lot of dealerships, so it helps, but I'll keep the old tails for sure then.

Scott/BigHorn - Your head lights appear to have something on them too in your sig pic. Is is the same stuff as your tail lights? The tails look darker.

Clip on's are ugly imo. Looks like I will just get my inspection and tint them then.

I have lamin-x Tint on all my lights. It is a film that you can take off if you need to.I have a pic of my tail lights.

Looks good bighorn, just got a couple questions. What tint percentage did you use on the back versus the front? Looks like the charcoal on the back, and the 6% tint on the front? Also, where did you find the 3rd brake light lamin-x? I can only find it for the rear tails.
