New to the forum, I have a 2013 2wd quadcab pentastar with 8 speed.

I am looking, and preparing for changing the tires on the truck and looking for input.

I would like a more aggressive tire, so that I don't get stuck in wet grass. I do sometimes find myself on boat ramps and semi muddy roads, nothing a normal 2wd shouldn't be able to handle but I have no confidence in the OEM tires. I don't want to sacrifice my fuel mileage or too much of the ride though. Tall order right?

Any input would be appreciated

anything more aggressive than a radial tire will sacrifice mpg's, but there definitely has to be better radial tires out there than what comes stock on these trucks. However for many many years it was the wrangler hp and they just recently switched so with no experience with the tires you have i will say it could possibly be worse lol

what really annoys me about people not willing to sacrifice MPG becuase of small changes like tires, if you lose 2mpg and your truck takes 32 gallons to fill, then youve lost 60miles on a tank, so if your truck is getting 15mpg then you have to buy 4 more gallons to go same distance... so 12-14$ people who smoke or drink spend more than that per week!! hahaa

End of rant...

My opinion is buy what ever tire you think will look the best and is your preference!!!

Vary rarely can one add a mod and not sacrifice mpg. New vehicles are engineered for emissions and max mpg. Once u start changing things mpg goes down hill.

Just realized this is probably posted in the wrong section. Thanks for the replies, mods you can move or delete if in the wrong section.

I'm thinking about the michelin LTX/ Ms2 or their all terrain version of the tire. Little tougher sidewall and more miles it seems

If you're going to deal with mud, I would think at least an AT. Oh, and this.

Yeah, I get it about the fuel mileage. But I did get the 6 in 2wd for the mileage and for what I need a truck for it was the perfect choice across the brands. I put 3,000 miles a month at least on my truck, so the price at the pump adds up fast. I was just curious if there was a tire that I had not come across yet that works well on the rams for those times when I do need to go down a wet muddy road etc.

Throw on a K&N air filter and some E3 spark plugs and your mpg's will break even. I've been looking at 305/55R20 falcen wild peak all terrain's. They're not radials but the reviews are good.

Any tire that can better handle even light mud will knock down full efficiency. The bigger the treat the less efficient the tire. The smaller the tread, the more fuel efficiency, but less capabilities of handling snow or any kind of mud. I would still think MPG loss with an AT would be minimal.
