So I bought this used 2003 RAM. It has aftermarket wheels with 285/70-17 BFGs. I was trying to figure out what the original size, but there's a difference between what the door sticker says vs. the build sheet I got from Dodge. The build sheet says it came with 265/70-17, but the door sticker says 245/70-17. Has anyone else had a discrepancy like that? Is it common for the door sticker or build sheet to be incorrect?

Thanks!

I don't think you have anything to worry about. On my '03 Ram the door sticker says 245/70-17 just like yours. But my truck has 265/70-17 on it, and the build sheet shows exactly that.

It may have been an upgrade from the factory that the sticker doesn't show

Same here. the door sticker is for regulatory purposes only and only shows data according to base models.

Anything SLT and up will have received 265/70 LT17 from the factory and the PCM has been accordingly programed.

That being said if you have different tires on the truck than the 265/70, make sure the PCM was not reprogrammed to account for new tire size. Someone with a programmer or a stealership would be able to read the current state information for you.
