Hello.I have a 93 w250 that has been sitting for years and was left in 4low.It will not shift out of low,but the front axle disengages. It has good vacuum at one of the lines at the actuator on the transfer case. I changed the actuator and is still is stuck in low. Any ideas what could wrong. I should have said shifter goes forward and the front axle disengages(it's vacuum operated) but the transfer case stays in low and the light on the dash stays on.

you may have to really push on the shifter to get it out of 4low. 2hi/4 high and neutral are usually easy to shift in and out of but 4 low usually take a bit of force to get in and out of.

get it rolling slow 2-3 mph on a flat road, drop the truck into neutral and give that sifter and good shove forward. Give it some grunt the rolling and neutral should get the gears to break loose and let you get it out of 4low. even 4 high with the front hubs unlocked isnt perfect but better than granny gears.
