Uconnect 8.4 & 8.4an update - 17.11.07

Mine did that as well but I let it run. Mine went though unit 4 about 3 times and rebooted each time and then it went through the rest of the stages and completed OK. I did not get all of the messages that the documentation suggested you should but the unit seems fine.

Question, I went to the uconnect and it says my truck is eligible for an upgrade....... but first off I noticed I was on 15.26.1 will it just up to 17.??? Also I don't think I have a uconnect access account? Just got the truck used a couple months ago. '14 sport. And in this day and age, we can't download it to our phone and plug it into the truck??? Haven't had a flash drive since the 90s!

The eligible update version will be listed after entering the VIN. It will likely list the 16.13.13 Siri update for now. If it's a factory installed 8.4 I would recommend manually installing the 16.13.13 update and waiting for the over the air update for the latest 17.x.x update.

You may consider this option Sir .
The 15.26.1 is a solid software version .
I have the same SW version , to my knowledge there's no issues with it at all , I've enjoyed it and I do not plan on upgrading my software , at least anytime soon .
Not sure on the 16.....software or the 17....SW , but I'm certin of the 15.26.1 SW having no issues .

So my buddy has a 2016 Ram and he has alot more apps then I do. Is this what the update comes with? He can also turn on his back up camera at anytime and view behind him leaving it on while he tows a trailer/boat. I want that option bad!

He can also change the wallpaper on his screen and color theme. My 2014 does not have these options... Am i missing something?

Yep , that does suck ! I have a 2015 RA4 8.4NA In my 2014 RA1 Original truck , as I've done the conversion upgrade.

To my knowledge ( someone please correct me if I'm wrong ) the 2016 RA4'S started the ability to turn on the backup cam at any time ....

Yes, 2016+ radios have that ability, but only on 2016+ trucks. If you put a new radio in an older truck you won't have the option unless you also have the cargo camera.

The camera only stays on for a short period of time while driving, maybe 20-30 seconds or so.

Cargo cameras have been available since 2013. They're only an option on the 2500/3500, though. Prior to 2016 if you had both a cargo camera and a regular backup camera, the backup camera was in the mirror and the cargo camera was on the radio. In 2016 they made it so both were on the radio.

But you can add front, cargo, and backup cameras to 2013+ trucks using the CustomTronix RAx Jailbreak software/harness or the LockPick Air v2 module (with wifi mirroring & even more cameras).
