universal exhaust tips

I found some universal 2.5 Inlet by 5 outlet 18" long. I want to cut the factory tip off and weld these on but keep the factory clamp end. how long can the tips to keep that mount?

If you are referring to the tailpipes that come after the muffler, they are 2 1/4" I believe.
