From my perspective, ABSOLUTELY YES. BUT I dont tow anything more than a 14' utility trailer w/ a zero once a week or so in the summer.

Mine was up until recently a 100 mile a day dd for 5-7 days a week in the south Louisiana heat w/ friday night trips to the track. I dont have any heat issues but can tell ya I have a constant mid 12 sec truck on 22" street tires ;)

Its worth it to remove. If you have cooling issues then just order a V6 efan

You have me sold. Now the question is, what do I set my temps too on my intune?

What fuel do you like to run at the track?

I would definitely get a 180* t-stat while pulling the clutch fan off to keep temps down.

Yea you can adjust the fan temps w/ the Diablo. Not sure of what temp it needs to be set for as Jay adjusted mine in the tune but the ability to adjust fan temps is in the hand held

I only tow a 14' utility trailer w/ a zero turn every week or so in the summer so I dont have anything heavy. I havent had any issues even in July & August Louisiana weather but I havent tried to pull a big camper or anything either

When you removed your clutch fan, did you have to run a shorter belt? Which belt and part # did you use? Thanks in advance.

This guy did a dyno test and tested it at the track. When he took off his belt driven, heavy as hell, stainless fan, he ONLY gained 5 rwhp, and no difference in time at the track. Just for comparison, I am going to take my clutch fan off tomorrow, and take it for a spin to see if I can feel a difference.

Possible, but online tests show as much as 14hp loss to the fan. Too many variables to say his experience works for everyone. I pulled the clutch fan off my Dakota and it definitely felt a little better, but that was an '01 3.9. haven't been in a rush to remove the fan on the Ram yet.

On at 195/196 off at about 187/188 should be fine. If you go much lower then that ,the fan will run constantly even on the highway

So, I haven't done any modding yet, constantly looking. Just found a guy willing to sell me a brand new e-fan for $50 delivered. I am not really considering a tuner any time soon. I do tow a scout trailer once a month or so, but I am in Houston so most of the places we camp within 3hrs may be hilly but nothing too steep.

Any reason I should or shouldn't purchase this? I have the 5.7 with 3.21.

You need a tuner to change on/off temps. It’s a great mod I did on my 2011 and it had no issues towing in the S Florida heat. I would do it again but I’m still under warranty and don’t want to swap the PCM.

RE the power gains.....ITS FREE POWER,cant beat that with a stick...Ok seriously..You dont get a hp increase,it just frees up power thats taken away from drive line to run the clutch fan..Parasitic drag....When doin the fan mod your NOT takeing off the pully, just the fan and how it attaches to the pully...
I would add the v6 fan cause the shroud on the original v8 e fan and shroud of the v6 is different in such a way that air has to be pulled into the rad for cooling..Stock fan shroud has a boat load of arear that air cab bypass the rad makeing it less efficient with air movement..

I cant state any gains but Jay greene tune fan delete left the shroud on and stock ac that turns on at 185. No over heating never usually goes over around 190. It's been 90 here for the last week and still keeps right up no problem

Same here. Been running this way with Jay's tune and we're hitting mid 90's, my temps have barely budged.

I towed my camper from MA to FL and back in April with the Mopar V6 fan. I'm running a Hemifever 93 tune with a 180 tstat and the highest my temp ever got was around 200. That was accelerating onto the highway when it was 90 out. Once I got to highway speed it came back down to 185 and stayed there. Pretty impressed with the V6 Efan while towing.
