Hello Ram forum and googlers. I am a huge fan of VisionX products. I did a review on the VisionX light cannon 25w lights canons awhile ago and becided to upgrade, see link:

http://www.ramforum.com/threads/visionx-light-cannon-4-5-review.83919/

^ my truck with four 25w 4.5" VisionX light cannons.

Anywho. I ended up selling those light cannons and decided I want to try the Rigid Industries D2 XL in the driving beam:

Great light! Look great and perform great!
bca9cbf31991e5c41a38ad49fb4ab1d0.jpg
However, once mounted in my truck. The square shaped light in the round bumper hole did not look good to me. I sold the lights. Ended up being great timing because VisionX announced their new Gen2 series light cannons:

Photo by VisionX. I opted for their 4.7" multi LED light.

^ photo by VisionX showcasing the Gen2 4.7" multi LED light. Siiiiick!!
I decided to buy a pair because I liked my original 25w cannons and XPR light bar (VisionX) so much.
I got a great deal from James at Alternative Off-road. Great customer service.

Here is the box. Looks great and has a ton of good information printed on the box.

Opened the box and pulled these out. Packaging very secure.

^ like staring into a sparkly diamond.

These lights feel like a million bucks in my hand. Feel extremely high quality and absolutely great in my hand. Rock solid.

Things are bullet proof. Have 4 thick screws securing that light to the mount. Unlike Rigid having 2 screws on their XL's. The four screws are great insurance the light will not vibrate loose.
The duestch connector is also three times as solid compared to anything I have seen on previous lights.
61b701c5fd048992064b60cfb780526f.jpg
Best wiring harness I have ever used.
Each light has its own relay, ground and + battery terminal. Tons of extra wire. Has a nice quick disconnect near the switch for ease of installment (awesome).
No joke, I had to cut my Rigid Industries (so did a buddy of mine) harness in order to connect my Rigid Dually XLs (see next photo).
f7c4d9c5a8247b2b4bb060003854d559.jpg
That is unacceptable and I will take VisionX's wiring harness any day of the week over the competition.

Have not aimed them yet. However, it gives you a good idea on how they will look. In my opinion, they look stunning!
Better than the Rigid D2 XL's in the same hole:
95d2076d5bbe4acca0906b98412d5d97.jpg

By the way. I am not bashing Rigid. I have owned various lights of theirs and they are great! Just not in my bumper. [emoji4]

The Gen2 cannons are all wired up. These bad boys are bright!! Freaking knock your socks off bright! That is what happens when you buy a quality light!

Stay tuned for night shots! Will get some this weekend. [emoji4]

Do you know their spread in degrees? Do they offer different spreads?

Can you take a picture in front of a wall to see if they will blind the incoming traffic.
I just was reading that LED are forbidden in the Europen Comunity as the usually blind the incoming traffic.
Particularly here in Costa RIca this is a huge issue as the roads are bad, often have faded or no white lines and wildlife or debris on the road.
For this reason (and it looks to me as it is cool in this moment to have light bars) everybody install them with the backdraw that driving at night
is even more dangerous becuase you are continously blinded by the other cars...

It may be that this VisionX light has a particular beam shape who limit beam height to avoid blinding other drivers.

Look good! Get some output shots! I saw your original thread and commented on it lol. Square peg and round hole is a no-no. Either way they look good, hope they perform which they should. Care to comment on the cost? 200+?

I just ordered some of the new Rigid SR-Q spot flush with the new pro LED chips that double the output. Should have them next tues and they will be going in the tow hook block off plates so I’m limited to size. I’m done with the China stuff, if my gut is right these new 3200 lumens each spot lights will give me better distance than the dual 42” bars I was running on my old truck. We will see Tuesday :)

Also do you have pics of the rigid harness? Mine come with one but don’t know what I’m getting. Is it a dual relay or single? I think they use the detuche connectors as well.

Honestly, I have no clue what degree the spread of light is. They are definitely not your typical spot beam pattern I can tell you that.

You can get the Light Cannons in either a single chip LED (uses a single high watt led, 10 degree spot I believe).

Or the multi LED (the 4.7" uses 7-7 watt LEDs. Gives a great spread in front of the vehicle.

You can buy these VisionX Snap on filters to alter the lights path:
d288946bb6fe6de82344a72b2209cd99.jpg
However, in my opinion, having used them, I am not really a fan. The clear plastic does not hold up well over time. The plastic is no match for the sun and will begin to fade out slightly over time.
Also road/ rock chips from the road from being mounted low cause damage over time.

The covers are great if you want to slap on an Amber/ colored cover. Great for that! Very convenient and they snap on secure.

Sorry partner, these are off road only. You will blind the **** out of any vehicles approaching.

I will get a photo for you in front of a wall :)

You can use them on the roads. However, only when no one is around. These would do great for that.

Nice! Congrats on the lights! They will be nice. Thanks for the comment on my previous thread, you nailed it for sure.

Price was $518 to my door. Tax and shipping included.

I don't have a photo of Rigid's harness. You will get the typical 1 relay, 1 fuse (+) a (-), duestch connector and light up switch. Which is fine. Works well. I just find the VisionX harness to be the nicest and highest quality I have used yet. It was nice enough for me to spend the time and mention it in my review. Had me impressed.

I got everything dialed in for the most part. Let's check out some night shots. Photos taken with my IPhone. Camera phone doesn't give too much justice and I am by no means a professional photographer. I am just some dude sharing my impression for you guys.

Nice focused beam coming off with some good flood. I took this photo on the back wall of an Albertsons grocery store lol. The rear building security lights are on and somewhat alter the photo. But you get the idea.
c9ad9e9ed55ab8898d09ad34f4d612e4.jpg
Also, my bumper is designed in such a way that causes the light to be recessed. It is for protection. This does block some flood and peripheral light noticeably. But, I don't have the time to mount this on a pretty light stand like VisionX did:
14996d3f2117930ee9fc9d2b43f455c6.jpg
I believe the above photo is an accurate representation.

I just live in the desert, with no tall trees to catch light. Or a fancy camera. But, I will do my best [emoji4]

Not bad for being mounted low to the ground and recessed in my bumper. I really like them.

So, when I had my Rigid D2 XL, I did not like them in the round holes (as mentioned above) so I moved them here:
41d3691786002b6994853a0650154971.jpg
Which worked out good. The Dually's light beam pattern were highly constricted in the bumper round light openings when recessed.

When I moved them, to the new bumper location shown above, the light output increased drastically!
d2ca07ceacb85e4c871e496663cb8073.jpg
Not bad right!!
I went back to this spot to get a comparison for you. I realized now, I am parked a bit farther back than with the Duallys. Light cannons:
972adbd3ed10d8ef9617577a25ca7e86.jpg
About twice the distance back from the tumble weeds compared to the Dually. These are some badass round lights! Imagine if the cannons were not recessed in the bumper!
ec9cad1ab912a33d85bac859d2a580a9.jpg
Great peripheral throw of light despite being blocked by my bumper!!

It is really hard to get an accurate representation of these lights using an IPhone.
874bcc376d39488032bc6d183005f50b.jpg
However, I think the above photo illustrates how badass these two lights are. Brighter in person for sure. These are some nice lights. Stoked to get two more down the road at some point.

They are certainly nice lights! They look aimed kind of low though... These are my KC 8" 35W HID spread beam:

Thanks! Your KC lights are no joke! Nice setup.

My lights still need a little bit of adjusting for sure. However, being out here in the desert, the terrain is pretty flat. I angle the lights down slightly to get a nice spread of light directly in front of my vehicle.

I haven't really talked about it, but, I also have a VisionX XPR light bar that really helps fill in areas missed by the light cannons:

Thanks for sharing your set up!

I will post more Gen2 Cannon shots as time allows and will be creating a multi year review (just like I am doing on my XPR). Stay tuned.

I am very happy with how these lights turned out. Eventually, down the road, I will have a shop cut and weld me some new steel bumper mounts. This will allow me to push the lights forward in the bumper and they won’t be as recessed. Thus, allowing more light out.

If you have not, swing over to VisionX web site and see their product line up. They have some pretty damn good stuff.

Stand by for some IPhone night shots :)
