Weekend tune up possible leak on valve cover.

    So over the last couple of days I have noticed my fuel milage had gone to sh!t and my truck was running really a little rough. The power was there but there was a hesitation. So doing some research it could be because of the winter gas but I figured i'd do a tune up anyways. So I cleaned the throttle body, new air filter, new spark plugs, new thermostat and coolant flush. All in all took me about 4 hours to do everything and the truck was running like a dream afterwards.

    While doing the spark plugs I noticed I a possible leak on the passenger side valve cover. Curious to what everyones thoughts are...I was thinking I would clean the engine with a degreaser and see if there is a leak. If it does how hard is it to remove the head?

    i would definitely wash it down then reassess. it doesnt look super fresh. might have plugged itself....

    Try re-torquing valve cove bolts I had the same thing all but 3 where to spec.

    good idea I'll check it this coming weekend. I ended up having to work all weekend so no time to do anything.

    So i'll check torque values, degrease and keep an eye on it for the coming weeks. I'll also change the pcv valve.

    it wasnt bad at all. I removed the engine cover and removed the intake. The passenger side I was able to do off of a step stool. The drivers side the front two coil packs I got off the stool and the back two coil packs I had to physically climb up on to the engine to reach them. They all came out quite easily. I gapped them all to .043 used never seize on the new spark plugs and dielectric grease on the boot.
