:) Everybody has a hobby, collects certain things, buys guns--etc

My truck is a hobby, so I BUY WHAT I WANT--

The VARARAM reminds me of my "HOT ROD" days and it also increases the MPG--

I'm really satisfied withit and also the sound--

Kinda reminds me of the HEMI (426) I had 45 years ago and I'm a HAPPT CAMPER

Whatever

I'm confused if they don't make a difference why are you guys spending so much for these fancy filters unless you are going to spend several grand more for performance enhancements I would say its a waste of money. I would do my muffler because it sounds good either than that until I can afford a super charger kit its staying stock lol.
The folks that don't have them are the ones claiming they don't make a difference.

I dont have one and im not sayin it dont, but its not gonna do much of anything as a stand alone unit..Its also based on a ram air effect to..Ram air aint happenin till yer up past 70+..Just cause you feel it after install doesnt mean it works...An example...Back about 1985ish the kawi dealer i worked for sold a fella a exhaust system for his 900 ninja...So out to the drag strip he goes...Bone stock he did his runs and installed the header full system...His times dropped......WHY??????? Cause it wasnt tuned for the ex change....Same with the cold air..As a stand alone unit, its likely in your head that it makes any differences you can truely feel..
Now this is not the bottom line or gods word but just to make you think..

Sorry, just don't trust a guy that wears his hat on backwards, moron comes to mind. Besides, true ram air doesn't come into play until you hit like mach-1 or something, until then it's just cold air induction.

If you want true cold air induction connect the intake to your interior a/c vent and kick that sucker up to full fan. I'm thinking that would be good for 20/25 extra horses. :)

The only true cold air intake is a snorkel as it brings air in from the outside, but it still will see an increase from underhood temps. All this bickering back and forth whether they "work" or not is worthless. Its been well documented the HP gains, if any, are not noticeable enough to measure unless paired with corresponding mods. However, they do allow an engine to breath more freely and easier, especially at WOT in high RPMs. Ive always seen better mpg and slight throttle response difference, could careless what the numbers are. They've always "worked" for me.

I've had no problems with my K&N cold air intake.

As I have said a number of times before, if you are looking for a HP gain don't waste money on an intake, keep your money in your pocket and get a catch can instead. :)

Whats the purpose of a catch can exactly?

It's to catch the oil that is vented through the pcv valve and the catch can keeps it from going back through your intake system and sludging up you intake.
