installed a bench seat in my ramcharger. i like it but access to the back seat is not as good as i would like.

i also moved my 81 onto the street so that i could blow all the leafs away. new parts should be showing up tomorrow.

i did but i never found them that comfortable. i was also having issues with structure under the right side of the drivers side seat. bench seat only uses the outer structure which is a lot stronger.

Makes sense. I'd like to put something different in the 76. Saw a 40/20/40 split bench in a 93 Cummins the other day and I liked that. lol

i would be happy with anything that is comfortable and uses the outer seat mounts like the trucks. i just wish accessing the back seat was easier. the bench flips forward but the space is a bit tighter but at least now people can squeeze into the back from either door.

The bench on the 76 is offset. It is shorter on the passengerside. I'm wondering if it came out of a RamCharger or something. lol

it is probably shorter to make getting into the back easier. i think to get a ramcharger with a bench seat you would have to custom order it from the factory with one or swap it in yourself

Gotta remember, my seat isn't the original. The stocker was longer, got the holes in the floor to prove it. lol What about the back seat in those trucks? This one is moveable.

the back seats in a ramcharger are small. they sit between the wheel wells. the do fold forward to make more cargo area but that is it.

Hmm, this must be from a truck then. It is noticeably narrow than the stocker tho.

Well, FWIW, the old 400 still had a nice cold lope for a couple minutes. lol it was only 50. If the temperature is below 55 it lopes.

changed the thermostat, heater core and alternator in my 81. still have to put stuff in the cab back together and think i might have to shim the alternator bracket a bit more but so far so good. the truck seems to like the 100 amp alternator. seems to run a bit better. also installed the temp sensor for the electric fan controller but have not hooked up the fans to it yet. will be so nice once i am done.

i used dupli color engine enamel. i think i got most of it from napa but had to get the last can from Canadian tire because napa was out of the color i was using. now if you are looking for a cheaper engine paint i have heard Rust-Oleum Engine Enamel works good and can be bought at walmart for cheap.
