I called my wife to have her start it up for a bit to melt the snow that came last night off her... Where im out in Alberta and the trucks back in NB she gets covered in snow... Wife somehow managed to convince me to let her use the garage this winter... truck was parked in it all last winter. except when Im home.

I picked the frame up for my Pro Touring RamCharger & spun it around so I could put it on the jig

i fired my 81 up and adjusted the electric fan controller once it got up to operating temp. fans now kick on at about 210*f and shut off at about 200*f. should be perfect for winter driving but might have to tweak it in the summer time.

drove my 81 today. i think i am having carb issues but it might be ignition related. also put some gas in the tank because i needed gas for the snow blower. truck gets gas first to make sure my small engines is getting pure 91 octane ethanol free gas.

changed the carb on my 81 and it runs a lot better but i will have to wait till tomorrow to see if my luck last. the 390cfm Holley usually runs great for 1 day before i start having issues. still need to fine tune things but it is running better.

also changed the spark plugs and wires on my ramcharger. i don't think i could hear any noticeable difference but it is done now. should be doing the ones on my 81 eventually.

cleaned the snow off my 81 and changed the carbs again. i think i need to adjust the floats a little and tune up the ignition system because i had to use a hair dryer to dry things off to get it to start. also got to re-install the cowl eventually so that not so much snow can get into the engine bay.

ya. didn't really have too much choice. i kind of broke the o-ring on the fuel line for the 390 and couldn't get the things to seal up. plus things where not running 100%. i am hoping to get the 670 running good and leave it alone till the summer when i can rebuild and paint the 390 again.

not really sure. i think it might just need to be cleaned out. there was clear jelly that somehow got in it. i don't know where it came from or how it got there but it might part of the issue. the passages might be a bit clogged. i think i read that drastic temp change can cause fuel to turn to jelly but never had it happen to me.

I was wondering since I had thought you had already rebuilt it once and you're saying you are going to again.

Wasn't it leaking or something? I'm trying to remember why you decided to rebuild it. lol

i don't know why i rebuilt it other than the fact i wanted to replace all the old dried gaskets and paint it. otherwise it seemed to run pretty good.

Maybe it was your comment about the gasket where I got that it was leaking.

Sounds like that may have been a bad plan? :D

i think i remember now. i think the new base plate gasket that came with the kit was causing a vacuum leak.

hard to say. i could still sell it for more than i got in it. i only bought the carb for $50

lol $50? All the more reason to keep it since you've not spent more than you bought it for. lol
