I was doing my fuel pump on my 2007 mega cab 1500 and I came across this. I've asked a few people and they have no idea, I called dodge and they don't even know what I'm talking about! can anybody help me find out what this is?

Anything connected to it or is it just a bar?

Just a bar, its got rubber on both ends. it moves freely (up, down, front to back) it rotates 180 and springs back to its original spot. I put the bed back on and it doesn't rest on the bar or anything.

is it like a dampner?

Harmonic compensator (suppressor). Some of the better equipped trucks came with them.

Road vibrations, apparently the better equipped trucks are sensitive to bed shake and that thingy is suppose to help eliminate it.
