Hi all.
I'm new to the forum.
I have a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 lowered with dropped spindles.
How do I know what shock absorbers I need to buy? Or with it having dropped spindles does that drop everything proportionally so that the original OEM shock absorbers will work fine just the same, such as is sold by Rockauto?
Any replies appreciated.
Cheers,
Glenn.

Rockauto site lists this Bilstein part number (24184847) as correct for a standard ride height 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 2wd, so will these also be correct for my 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 2wd that has been lowered with dropped spindles?

With spindles u don’t need drop stocks you can use stock length. If u had drops coils as well I would get al new shocks

Thanks. In the end I took the gamble and bought the best Bilstein shocks in the stock configuration from Rockauto, fitted them and they perform great. Cheers. (I’m surprised at the lack of input on this site-maybe because it is all “checkbook mechanics”-not many Ram owners have much mechanical aptitude/experience?? I’m on the ForwardLook site for my 57 Fury and there would have been a discussion 2 pages long on a simple question like this by now...)

terribly sorry beauduke or I didn't chime in sooner. We are more or the less the only ones with lowered rams on here.

With drop spindles, the ride geometry doesn't change so stock size shocks are fine.

I run a lower coil and hanger flip with drop shackles, (or at least I did now just hanger flip)
