I will be installjng my Rockford Fosgate components this weekend in my front doors. For those of you that have added front components, did you flush mount your tweeters in the plastic windshield pillar? Or are there mounts i am unaware of? Thanks in advance

Any reason you don't want to place them in your dash where the originals are?

Id install door speakers, and use double sided tape and listen to them in different locations until you find what suits your taste.

I did that and was happy. I was running active and was able to decrease the volume of the passenger side so it wasn't so bright. Make sure you have swivel mount otherwise they point down and towards the dash. I took out the dash speakers because they didn't blend well with the tweets. Later i put the tweets in the dash hole and again with the dsp was able to negate the windshield reflections.

I did them in my sail panels Cameron's they came out really clean. Putting them in the dash might be a little too bright. you're able to try different spots to see what you like before final install.

I have some spare sails that I'd be willing to part with....

Thanks for the replys guys. I bought the rockford T2 6.5" components. They will be here tomorrow, so i dont know if the tweeters swivel or not. But i will use tape and try both of these locations before i cut holes.

Mine are in my sails but are run active so I was able to dial back the levels a bit. Then again, I’m running 100w to each so I was kind of expecting to have to do that.

Sail panels here as well. I’ve done the same in prior vehicles so for my ears, that is where I like them. I did try the dash but too much deflection IMO. One other thing I like about the sails, you can pick up a spare set for $15. If I ever sell or trade my truck, no one is getting my Scanspeak Illuminators! Lol. They’ll get the ****** sails.
