I have an 88 D100 with the 318 2bbl carburettor conversion. The guy I bought it from gutted all the original wiring. Needless to say it was a fire waiting to happen. I acquired a complete headlight to tail light wiring harness from an 87 D150 with a carb. I've been able to work my way through the minor changes that were different. The issues I'm running to are as follows:
1: I have a dark blue wire and a green wire that are supposed to connect to my alternator however I have place to connect them
2:the small white rectangle I'm assuming is my ballast resistor. The purple wire in the picture was to the old ignition. I now have a Spark Control ECU. The new wiring harness ignition is hooked up to the ECU. Is this necessary anymore? If so I'm not sure how to hook that up to my coil.
3: I have two wires on the new harness that go to the coil, one dark blue and one black. However the black wire that is currently hooked up to my distributor doesn't appear to be an easy replacement. Not sure how to go about addressing this issue.
4: just curious what the two wire and one black wire with adapter does. It runs from the bottom of the engine on the drivers side.
5: the large diameter brown wire hooks into a relay? However I have the same brown wire running along side the positive terminal that runs into the starter. I'm assuming a ground for this but not entirely sure.
Thank you in advance for your time and patience with my many inquiries.
