Question for those more knowledgeable ....

I plan on removing my seats to see what can be done about creating a new mounting bracket to lower the manual seats. However, there are several wires under there and it seems as though I seen a post about disconnecting one of these can inadvertently set off the airbags? Did I imagine this? Any precautions I should take?

As always, thanks for the info and suggestions.

Unhooking the battery would disable the airbags eh? Not sure. Also the airbags shouldnt deploy without the key in the right position (but that was GMs or whomevers recall).

airbags can be disconnected. what triggers them is a resistance change in the wires going to them. If they are disconnected and you start/ turn on the truck you will get a light on the dash that will need to be reset.
