Hey guys, so I am going to try my best to to explain this lol. I believe I have an exhaust leak, which I haven't gotten fixed. Well when I am accelerating, and I hit about 30 or so and am revving around 2500-3000 RPM's I get this terrible noise! I can explain it a few different ways, it sounds like a gargle sound thats coming from metal. The other possible sound is like a rattling sound. Like I said, this only happens when I get on it a little bit. Doesn't happen if I am easy on it. ANYONE have any insight on what the hell is goin on!? If you need any more info let me know and I will try my best to give all I can. Thanks for your help!!

What year is your truck? I have a 2011 that makes a similar sound and was told to me by the dealer that the driveshaft vibrates, creating the noise. The fix they suggested was to take it to a specialist shop and have the driveshaft foam filled to stop the outer part of the driveshaft from vibrating against the inner...

No idea
Humorous thought:
It's the wife of the driver of a little hybrid clown car caught underneath your truck yelling at her husband. :jnono:

Thats what I thought mine was cause I have the exhaust leak as well. Too bad to hear you fixed the leak and it didn't fix the sound.

I was wondering, could something be in my Cat that is rattling around when I start pushing extra air through?

i took the truck for a spin and the sound gone :D , so it was a manifold leak plus the rattling sound was from the joint between the cat and manifold i guess when on hard acceleration the metal rattle because the bolt was lose , so now i don't have the ticking sound at start up when engine cold and no rattling sound on hard acceleration.
I HOPE THAT WHAT I HAVE DONE WILL HELP ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE THIS RATTLING SOUND, GOOD LUCK AND PLEASE POST IF IT WAS THE SAME ISSUE.

It's an old thread but on mine it was a tab on the top of the pipe after the cats where the u bracket joins the straight pipe. It was just holding the bracket prior to being fastened in manufacturing . I took pliers and bent it back and it came right off. Serves no purpose once the u bracket is on. Even if u don't break it just bend it away from the bracket.. Clatter gone

Yup, +1. Just did the same on my 2013, fixed my exhaust rattle at certain RPM ranges.

This is OLD, but I noticed the issue with mine a couple of days ago. Got online and started looking around and YouTube gave me this idea first. Just went out and broke it off. Hoping it fixes the issue, but it didn't seem to be hitting anything as the bracket is completely rusted over. If this isn't the fix, then on to the next.
