millions of people are happy with the 44-44, there are about 50 of them nation wide that cry about it. Carry on with your amazing transfer case.
Are you and danno seeing who can be a bigger troll?

I'm not trolling, I'm being real... the case is amazing, it does things other cases do, but because it's in a ram, it's even -better-.

Now, say thank you to mopar.

The 50 people should have bought a Power Wagon and if I needed it, I would have bought it!!!

I didn't/don't need a power wagon, just something that was reliable. Since I couldn't get a crew cab long box outdoorsman in a 1500 for 2014 with the 44-45 I went up to a 2500.

Not really, you are saying if a truck with a 44-44 won't do what you require jump up to a power wagon. I'm saying a truck with the 44-45 would have done all I wanted it to do but I couldn't get one of those how I wanted it so I went up to a 2500, not a power wagon.

The 44-44 would have done exactly what you wanted, you just chose not to do it. Shame on you, shame on you all the way to the drive way. :buffer:

I'm not sure who " danno " is, but I'm not him. My name is Billy, i'm really really sexy, I like walks on the beach, I have a truck, two bikes, two children, and a wife that I only like on the weekends.

NONE of these things compare to the engineering marvel we all know as the BW44-44. Sorry ;:)flipthebird:

So when a dusting to 2" of snow in southeastern NY ended up being 8 inches and the people in charge of road clean up were unprepared, I took a road trip .

I completely understand what people in the other thread on this topic are saying for very specific situations, but this transfer case can handle most that's thrown at it. I drove about 30 miles on mostly unplowed roads, my Duratracs are 5 days from being replaced, and I had no issues or any overheating or anything. Here's my one observation that may add a different experience than I've seen described regarding 4Auto vs 4Lock:

4Auto, cruising down the road and needing to turn onto an on ramp or onto another road, and you definitely notice the truck waiting for a slip before the clutches engage and get the front wheels turning. Definitely takes a moment to engage and you definitely feel the slip but it still happens fairly quickly.

The same situation in 4Lock and I felt absolutely nothing. It may have been doing its thing with engaging, waiting for spin, whatever, but it was entirely unnoticeable to me. Multiple times stopped at red lights on the way up a hill and there was no "spin" before the 4 wheels engaged together or that miserable traction control feeling I'm sure we all have experienced.

Just throwing into the discussion that I experienced a noticeable difference between auto and lock, both doing exactly what I expected them to do and served their purpose under the different situations I was driving in.

I feel like 4 lock and low is engaged whenever the throttle is above 0. Auto only goes in when there's slippage.

Agreed. There was some discussion in another thread that 4Auto and 4Lock were ultimately the same thing with this transfer case but from my experience with it there is definitely a difference.

You are wrong about that period. It is not engaged.i till there is the smallest amount of spin from the rear wheels. You're right about the case works good. That's the reason this thing in here is going back and forth like it is. If you go put your truck in 4 auto hi or low. Drive it and make a tight turn and you will see it doesn't bind. It doesn't bind because it's not engaged. Until rear wheel spins. I've done it and know how it works . And besides the few that this case don't work, there might be something actually broke on yours. The lock up is almost instant. Carry on:favorites13::signs1::popcorn::popcorn::popcorn:

From a standstill, 4 lock may work based off of slippage and throttle. I know if I'm driving, let's say 45, and am in 4 lock, I can feel it's engaged on bends and turns when any throttle is applied. No wheel slippage. I've turned it off mid turn before and the slight bind goes away instantly.
