I believe the programable buttons is a 2015 and up option, for 13 and 14 only aux 1 and aux 2 are configurable by relocation of a fuse in the aux PDC.

As far as the dealer not being able to do this is bupkis! In that they would only need to install the aux pdc and jumper with the jumper pins being inserted into connector I211, then add the code. I found all the parts online except the aux pdc and jumper. Several websites show the diagram and callout the aux pdc as the kit auxiliary pdc, the part number they list though is for the customer wiring pigtail kit 68209998AB.

Hoot bro is there a part number on you aux pdc and or wiring harness that connects it?

Went out at lunch and pulled my AUX PDC out of the tab mounts and only found a number of "7154-7344-30" on the bottom but that does not come up as any FCA type part number and I suspect is just vendors part number for the plastic shell.

One of the wire sub assemblies had a part number of 68239834AA.

I think you are already there with the 68209998AB part number being the actual assembly of the AUX PDC with pig tail harness but lacking any of the internal fuses and relays. Basically just a box with pig tail harness.

Great write up. I could use a few more OEM switches.
You referred to something I've seen in other posts that, being new to the forum as well as to the Ram, I've a question about.

You said that you did not need to "add the sales code...". What's that all about?

Here is my laymans explanation. Many of the addons/mods discussed within this forum require a visit to the dealership so they can add a sales code to the vehicle's computer. The sales code activates the particular feature with the vehicles electronics providing all of the nessesary hardware is in place. For this particular mod I did not need to have the sales code added for it to function on my truck.

Appreciate the reply, abbttb. I figured it must be something along those lines. So, that would apply only for mods/additions that are factory on some configuration(s) of Ram, but was not included on the truck being modded, I guess? Do dealers ever give ya grief or get pissy about doing that for you? Is there a charge for doing so?

When I performed my foglight mod I needed the dealer to add a sales code. The service advisors didnt have a clue of what I wanted so I had to talk to their Service Manager. He knew exactly what I wanted and got me fixed up. He charged me $60 to cover his techs time.

Does anyone know if this mod applies to the 1500. The switchbank looks the same, but how about the wiring?

The wiring will not be present at the connector on 1500 trucks. A while back a former member who passed away jeepguy1980 tried to put one in his 1500 and when he did the top switches would not work either.

On the dctools website this is the part number however there is no repair part number associated with the PDC.

Those part numbers are vendor part numbers Yazaki Corp. Not sure if its in here though but I think it is, just listed with a different part number configuration. The PDC consists of the parts top and bottom cover as well as the center section. Mopargiant sells everything except the center section, so trying to identify that. The diagram as usual is confusing up with p/n 2 being point to as the main body and the top cover, while the top cover is p/n 1

bit too spendy for me to consider installing vs going with an aftermarket relay setup.

This is just a universal relay block. I added an aluminum bracket to it and mounted it using one of the mounting holes for a cowl fasteners.85f36d954e12e9ff8459e654d646087a.jpgf96dce2b7ce1d9eb7d14b627fc4cd395.jpg

Does anyone know what size pins or where to order the pins that would fit the male plug for this aux panel?

Where did you get the auxiliary switch from? I have a 2016 with 2 spaces one will have the trailer Brake Controller installed on the far left and I will have 1 in the middle on the top row available. Are your aux switched all a combined piece or are they individual?

This thread is how I added auxillary switches to my 2016 RAM 2500 with a 6.4. My truck did not have provisions for the auxiliary switches from the factory and the parts folks at my dealer said it was impossible to add the switches after the fact. After a lot of research I began my quest to prove them wrong. The switch in my truck had traction control, tow/haul, rear park assist buttons on top and a blank panel on the bottom?

My factory switch

The switch I needed with the auxiliary switches on the bottom row was PN 68241343AA-001

Both switches use a single connector and i was able to incorporate my harness into the existing connector by slicing into the appropriate wires.

I found a wiring diagram on Ram Builder for the 6.4 and it* helped with the design and building my harness. In the factory connector I connected to the following wires.

Aux1 - pin 3 br/or
Aux2 - pin 2 br/vt
Aux3 - pin 11 br/wt
Aux4 - pin 10 br/gy
Aux5 - pin 12 tn/br

Hope this helps you install your switches.

Just curious, have you traced where the other end of those wires you tapped into go? Was just wondering if perhaps they dead end somewhere that could be an alternate location for tapping into them rather than behind the center section of the console.

Intially started by M Penwald, Hey I already did this write up in October 2015 on the Cummins fourm website, all you did was add in the Aux fuse and relay holder from Amazon which is a nice touch, but not available back then, you even took my wiring diagram and moved it to the Ram Fourm, but you did make it a little neater by using a computer drawing, but you forgot to add in the diodes to prevent back feed causing the Aux Led's to light up dimly. But I wanted to thank you for taking the credit for work that you didn't figure out. Anyone wanting more info on Adding Aux Switches to your Ram 2500, 3500 check out Adding Aux Swithches in the Cumminsfourm. Usually I'll inform others of a Mod and give them the website to go too so they can get the information from the source, not steal and rewrite as my own.

Robval1987, I dont appreciate you're accusations. My entire writeup is based on my research and the research of Yoda, Magician, and Cptwing whom were credited in this write up. If any of the information shared originated from your writeup then I apologize. But attacking someone because you didnt get credit is just childish. The point of this forum is to help other Ram owners. We are not here to stroke your ego or anyone elses.

In all fairness, when I read this thread I felt there was a good bit of plagiarism present. I used Rob's thread on the Cummins Forum over a year and a half ago to install my upfitter switches and wire them up, including his drawings and info for adding the diodes in for proper operation. I don't have the time nor the inclination to backtrack that far, but I believe one or two of the pictures actually came from his write up.

I don't need anyone stroking my ego, and I willing share all mods I've done on my vehicles. What I don't appreciate is someone taking my work and making themselves out to be the one who figured it out, or take my pics and repost them in their rewrites. I always point individuals toward a mod that I have followed by adding a link to the original post and would never use someone else's photos in my write ups.
