I need some advice, my truck will be lifted in the next 10-14 days so I'm trying to gather everything I need for this transformation. I ordered a set of bushwacker painted flares in bright white but unfortunately they didn't match well, looked a couple shades "whiter" to me so I returned them. My son thinks I should put the black flares since all my trim is black including wheels etc (see pic), my wife thinks white or none at all. Other option is to have a painter try and color match, however there's no guarantee that will be a perfect match either and could get $$. I checked ebay and no one had any bright white 2500 take offs listed. Only other option is don't add flares at all which I prefer that look but don't want paint chips either.

Could someone please post pics of white Ram sports with black flares please so I can get an idea what they would look like?

I was looking at the 2500 Textured black flares 82212208 (didn't find p/n for painted or smooth).

The wheels are XD832 they are satin black and not flashy, going for more of an offroad look sorta

I'd go with the unpainted matte black bushwhackers to go with your rims. You can always Powdercoat the studs. That would look awesome. You can always paint them later if you don't like it. The flares hold up really well unpainted. You already have matte black badging all around.

Love flares but only if paint matched. Black on a white truck would look cheap and too redneck IMO

Go matte black first, if you don't like them take them off and paint. If it was my truck, I would LineX them. After 6 months when the look faded matte, they look perfect imo. second pic...

Thanks everyone, it's a tough call mainly because white is so hard to match. I think I might could pull off the black oem flares since they aren't as massive as the bushwacker pocket flares but I'm not sure.
Thanks for the compliment on the wheels, they are a simple design and should be easy to clean. They are 20x9 with -12mm offset. They have a 3.25" lip which is about what a lot of 10" wide wheels have. They are also hubcentric so they don't require the adaptors. I actually painted the center XD white last weekend.

Can't seem to find the pic. But, somebody posted (wasnt a members truck) a pic a while ago of a white ram with all black accents. Bull bar, flares, badges, wheels, etc. Looked pretty badass IMO.

Please post a pic when you get them on. My Ram is Granite and has black wheels and emblems. I think I want black flares as well. I think I want the smooth ones, pockets seem to collect more dirt.

I went to the dealer and ordered them Saturday and I’ll definitely post pics. If you want the smooth factory flares, just look at the ram rebel, there’s plenty of granite crystal rebels with the black smooth flares.

I would also be interested to see how they turn out. I just bought the 2017 1500 sport with the night edition and looking at the same flares.

Did you order the 2500 medium textured flares as in 82212208AC? Been thinking about them for my black sport. Curious to see how they turn out for you.

After searching around I stumbled on some Mopar pocket style flares available at the dealer that I liked. These came on the 2016 Ram Rebel Mopar '16. They were about $90 more than the smaller 2500 textured flares but. These flares keep the same outline profile as the 2500's but they are wider and give more coverage (shows fitment for rebel, 2500, 3500 only due to front bumper design). They aren't as wide as the massive bushwackers but they aren't as narrow as the 2500 flares, sort of a happy medium for what I needed. They don't require you to move any emblems and they fit great imo. I added the 5/16-18 x 3/8" powder coated bolts from route66mods (available in many colors) to keep it all black.

My install takes extra time and might be seen as overkill but I have seen some people do it this way and it "should" prevent any paint damage.

1. Install the flare with 2-3 fastners as if you weren't going to remove it.
2. I used 3/8" painters tape and made an outline around the flare leaving a small gap.
3. I removed the flare
4. I then used 1/2" XPEL clear flim (door edge) and followed the outline of the painters tape.
5. Remove painters tape and reinstall flares and tighten.

If you look at the zoomed in pic you can just barely see the edge of the clear film at the rubber edge.

This was my first time adding flares with the clear film, so I cant give you any long term reviews so hopefully this lasts.

Parts:
1. Ram Rebel Mopar ’16 Off-Road style Black medium grained textured OEM Fender Flares P/N 82214577AC.
2. Matte Black powder coated fender flare bolt kit from route66mods.
