Now that the AEV switch pods are up and running, I had a thought (which can be dangerous!) then saw you guys make custom harnesses and it came together. Are you guys able to make a jumper harness for somewhere like the back of the 8.4 or somewhere else forward in the dash that would give someone easy access to the following wires:

1) Battery hot
2) Ignition hot
3) Ground
4) Dash lights

This would make wiring in all those switches so much easier since one wouldn’t have to go digging behind the dash and splicing into wires. I know I’d pick up one of those in a heartbeat!

How would you want us to land the switch pod end of the harness? How much power would you need on b+ and fused ignition circuits?

I’m thinking really just bare wide ends on the switch pod side. Far too many options out there to make any one harness work for everyone. But it will keep all the cutting and splicing outside of the truck’s factory wiring. As far as power draw, I, like everyone should, will be feeding the switches directly into a relay, so they will be drawing next to no power, really. The new AEV pod will hold a total of six switches. Do you think this is feasible? Just seems like a great DIY way of adding interior switches and gaining access to common hot/ground items that one would typically have to go hunting behind the dash for. And it also makes it plug and play. Unplug the radio (or whatever common component behind the dash has all four of those wires), plug in the jumper to stock harness and back into the truck’s device, and BOOM you have four wires that can be used to power switches and/or other small, low-draw devices.

This is a stupid crude drawing on my phone using a random wiring harness photo of some Volvo I found on google, but it better illustrates my idea.

I would be interested as well as I am going to be installing the AEV pod.

I would like that too with 14-16ga wires

I will be using a Packard 630 series female terminal so bare wires are fine with me in a decent length to work with

I think that this harness could be wildly successful for a lot of members looking to do interior upfits (radar detectors, camera mounts, etc) and not have to splice into the truck's wiring at all. i sent a PM to both members of M2 Mods a week ago with no response, not sure if this something they're interested in doing or not.

I was thinking that the 8.4 may be the best harness to tap into, and it would also allow M2 Mods to market this harness to pretty much every other FCA vehicle as well, opening up potential sales. however, if there is not a dedicated dash light wire that goes to the 8.4, the wiring harness to the aux switch panel may work, since it is my understanding that even if the truck doesn't have the switches, the wiring is still there for it, and that harness likely has battery and ignition hot that feed the switches, and a dash light wire to turn the aux lights on at night. this may be a better option than the 8.4 harness, and it is in the center of the dash and easy to access when wiring. i'm a weekend warrior when it comes to automotive electrical installs and this could be the greatest thing since the tapafuse if executed properly.

After coming up with the idea, I'm very much in a "shut up and take my money" kind of mood about it lol

I don't think this is going anywhere, fellas. I sent both members a PM and got crickets in return.
