Looking for some advice here. I bought a 2018 Ram 2500 Mega Cab 4x4 Cummings from a dealer that put aftermarket wheels and tires on it. I bought the truck with roughly 50 miles on it. As I was leaving, I noticed the tire pressure notification, which they told me will go away after it calibrates. It didnt go away as the tires were not f rated to hold 80 psi. I switched the tires to comply, however the rear tires disappeared from the display causing the Tire Pressure temporarily unavailable notification. They were gone for about a week and about 1000 miles. Then they reappeared and left again a few days later. I took it to the dealer(not where I bought it) and they said not their problem as the after market rims are too thick which causes the issue and there is no fix? I found this hard to believe, any suggestions?
Fuel rims 20 inch running 35x12.5 Toyo Open Country. Thanks for your help.

May be a blessing in disguise, since its a pain in the ass on the 2017 and up for a reprogram. ( This post brought to you by: Ford, Firestone and various attorneys at Dewey Cheatem and Howe)

BTW I contacted Fuel wheels and my installer - they have NEVER heard of the wheel being too thick.

Nope as of today I opened another case with FCA - regional tech said it could be tires, wheels, window tint and the latest the USB cords I am using. What is frustrating is the error message came on 6 months after purchasing new wheels. I have replaced the tires twice with different brands. Is it so sensitive that these things can cause the system to go out of service? So for people that live in AZ with tinted windows they are having this same problem? How about all the dealerships that put tires and wheels on their vehicles and sell them new? This is so frustrating to me -

This same message occurred with my 2018 2500 CTD last week. After a few restarts it went away and now came back on this morning on my drive into work and then after about a 10 min drive came back on while still driving.. No tint, factory tires and wheels and nothing new electronic wise (Ie. USB cords, etc.)

2020 Ram 2500 with 3K miles on it. Just got the same "tire pressure temporarily unavailable" while towing a 34' TT. Talk about a little scary.... About an hour or so later tire pressure came back. I'm going to ask the dealer to look at it when I take it in next week for an oil change (first), although I'm sure there will be nothing to find at the dealer (Murphy's Law).

I just bought a 2021 ram 2500 hemi long bed 6 days old 640 miles and this light came on and not going away, done nothing to the truck ,everything is original , called the dealer , service guy said he never heard of this fault , wants me to take in , which is fine but my goodness 6 days old , you kidding me , my first new truck off the lot , not a good impression. not sure if supposed to be worried about a dodge . hope not.

How did we live before tpms became available, even when on a trip I rarely ever pull up that screen. When I do it’s most likely when fueling back up,which is when I will check tires anyway, especially when towing. If the wheel sensors were changed when it got new wheels that would be my suspect.

Total BS right there. Never trust a dealer.
