Well I'm finally making the move from car to a truck. Have some experience driving an ol' '90 Chevy Silverado.
I'm very interested in building a '19 Dodge Rebel, but I have a few concerns that I'm hoping people here can help answer. I suppose another option is Laramie, but leaning more towards rebel due to color/looks.

My first concern are the tires as I would be using the truck mainly on-road(daily driver, 2.5hr trips highway, vacation trips 600 some miles). I have read that the stock tires have trouble getting traction on the pavement. Has anyone experienced a lack of traction?

How does the truck handle at 70-75mph? Is there a lot of vibration?

Finally, is it worth it getting the air suspension? More problems than its worth or the coil springs just fine?

I appreciate any input.

I can't speak to the rebel itself, but those tires are not going to cause any noises or vibrations at 70MPH. As for the coil vs air. This is a preference thing. If you will be towing, or going offroad, go with your coil suspension. if you just want a realy good ride and plan to make it a pavement princess, then go with the air!

Thx for the reply. Yeah it'll mainly be on the road, but I'm going to have fun off-road when I see opportunities lol. I'll stick with the air ride suspension then. Great news to hear bout the tires.
My last vehicle '11 Mustang took 5 1/2 weeks to build. Fun being able to track its progress via railcar and truck for delivery.
I figure if your going to spend this much $$ might as well wait and get just what you want.

I plan on getting an exhaust system, and I'm wondering how that would affect the noise dampening system through the stereo. Probably a way to turn that off.

I've heard one problem with the air suspension, it's EXPENSIVE to repair. Might sway your decision. Looks beautiful as far as the looks of the '19 go.

I just drove 1200+ miles in my '17 Rebel a week ago. Drive was super comfy. Stayed going 73mph through 45 minutes of HEAVY rain and it felt as surefooted as it was on dry pavement. No vibrations at all above 70mph. I love this thing!

I did my first long trip in my '17 Rebel back in February. Minnesota to southern California. Never missed a beat.

Upcoming trips:

September: Minnesota to northern Montana (Glacier National Park) and then into BC (Banff/Jasper National Parks). Should be a 3300 miles round trip.

October: Minnesota to Memphis then the Florida panhandle and back through Texas Should be about 3000 miles round trip.

Can't wait! Love traveling in this thing. Love the extra room in the cab and storage in the back. I also have the Ramboxs for tons of extras. I have the air suspension and don't tow with my truck though.

Good luck!

I have the 19 Rebel and the ride is just as good as Laramie. Don’t have the air suspension. It’s expensive and couldn’t justify the cost. I have chirped a few times on takeoff but that’s because I have a heavy foot lol.

I have 3500 miles on my '19 Rebel now. No noise or vibration at highway speed. I have the coil spring suspension and it rides great.

Done with my trips.....just got back from my Florida Panhandle trip today...3200 miles.

Truck ran like a dream....mileage was a bit low...17ish...but it ran like a dream.

Absolutely love this truck for long trips...so smooth!

From what I seen, it looks like they are focusing on that badass Hellcat Rebel and the Rebel that most of y’all are familiar with, might be becoming a new midsize, Dakota-like truck for 2020.

Maybe someone can better clarify that....

Well that would SUCK!!!

I saw 2019 Rebel at the dealer last night when I dropped mine off for another recall, I must say I like the look and lines on the new model. Not enough to trade mine, but it is a good looking truck.

OP, have your dealer do a inventory search. Maybe the one you would have ordered is already on a lot somewhere just waiting for a new owner to take it home and buy it some cool mods.

Well yeah, maybe. If they’re wanting to sway all the Rebel fans to that new hellcat-powered one, I could see that being ok depending on how much price will be on it because you know that big supercharged V8 ain’t gonna be cheap.

I haven’t seen a new Rebel in person yet but, I’m just still not too big on that new design...lol. I will say, I did like the LED headlights on the 19 Limited I checked out, and I liked that interior but, that design tho.....[emoji20]

Good advice. That’s why I ended up having to do when I bought mine almost a year ago. Couldn’t order my Limited because of the debut of the new 5th Gen so I had to settle for something already made.

Which don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying I’m unhappy with not being able to order because I’m very happy with my truck. Plus I got it a lot quicker this way, too. And it’s still pretty much what I would have ordered anyways, minus the spray in bedliner and the painted step boards. My special order woulda came with locking lugnuts, the longer, chrome step boards and with tow hooks in the front bumper.

She’s got it all now......[emoji3526]

The Rebel TR (7.0 banshee) and the Rebel TRX are going to be MUCH more expensive than people realize. The '19 Rebels came out around $60k with the good ole 5.7. The TR alone is supposed to have a brand new motor @525hp or so and if the TRX is going to be using the full 707 hellcat motor = $$$.

The price of the TRX will dictate the prices on the TRs, but those TRXs are definitely going to be $100,000 trucks by the time they are sitting on lots. After seeing a trackhawk at my local dealership going for $99k those TRXs could be around $120k.

Guarranteed there's going to be a bunch of TRXs with 108 month loans LOL

The big Ford dealership next to me has 4x 2019 raptors - the cheapest one is going for $102,400. That's used exotic territory right there.

Seriously, you would be amazed at how many of these guys are paying $1400/84mos loans or $1,000/mo lease payments.

Holy hell. There’s no vehicle I want that I’d pay that much for. I’d ruin a 102k raptor cause I’d have to drive it like it’s meant to me driven

No kidding! You're the reason why I would never buy a used one! haha
