Can you explain more? He ran it through the gas tank?
The BG service system connects to the TB intake and fuel rail. The system injects the two BG products, while the vehicle is running ,one at a time. It cleans the TB the fule lrails and the injectors.

If the BG system is cleaning each injector individually that would be an awesome deal. Those of us that are using PI or S1 just assume that it works, that system would actually verify that it works.

The two products clean the injectors thru the fuel rail.

I took my daughter's Subaru to Firestone on base here today to get an alignment because I changed the tie rod ends, end links, cv shafts, etc. They use a product called QMI for fuel injector and induction system cleaners. I had never heard of that brand, so I looked it up. It's a three stage cleaner. Three different products. Their TB cleaner SDS shows that it's 60-100% propanone, which is acetone. The induction system cleaner SDS shows it's 30-60% mineral spirits and 15-40% ether. The VMER (Volumetric Efficiency Restorer) is 60-100% #2 diesel fuel and 5-10% naptha. Interesting combination of a bunch of solvents. The latter two are dumped in the tank and the TB cleaner is a foam/spray. Anyone have any experience with this product/service? They charge $80 for the service.
I don't know about that stuff but the indy garage I deliver to that advertises BG has on their board that fuel system service is $169. What all that entails I don't know.

I would hope there's more labor involved in that price tag than the QMI one. Probably goes through a vacuum port and/or fuel rail.

Also, they have a trans service system. Connects to the low and high pressure trans lines at the radiator. Purges the fluid including the torque converter. Drop the pan (no fluid) replace the filters and gasket and the system re- fills the trans with the new fluid you have put in the flush system. Even tells the tech how much fluid was removed.

Next time you are there, check out their BG system. Would be interested in your opinion.
About the only time I go to garages is when I need tires or alignments, but I def will. My wife's is DI, so I'm keeping my ear to the ground for something to head that eventual catastrophe off at the pass. TBs and MPFI are usually good for a very long time with just regular in-tank cleaners and an occasional TB cleaning in my experience.

Just occurred to me that it is after 1:00AM in NJ. I get it. I don't work for BG or pushing their products. Just like to get other peoples thoughts.

No problem. I'm a night owl. I'm usually up until 2 or 3. Up by 8.

So we could get the complete system refilled with Amsoil/redline/trans fluid of our choice at one shot? That sounds like a deal there. I'll have to heck that one out.

So I used to bank and do insurance exclusively through USAA, well I deployed to Afghanistan and while I was deployed my ex-wife (who didn’t have a POA) opened a credit card in my name, with an 18k limit and proceeded to max it out. As soon as it populated on my online profile, I called them from Afghanistan and asked WTF.

Strike 1. They couldn’t explain it and when I provided proof that I wasn’t in country the just basically told me, sorry you will have to pay it off. I’ll admit I was naive and probably could have taken some other action to get it fixed but I wasn’t as experienced/educated as I am now. Judge gave me all the debt in the marriage except her car because I had a job.

Strike 2. I had an INDIVIDUAL savings account that only my name was on. They allowed my ex to call and transfer half of it out ($13.4k, $26.8k total) out to her individual-checking account, the day before I kicked her out for ******* another dude.

Strike 3. While going through a divorce/custody battle, I asked them to lower my minimum payments on that giant ass credit card I didn’t open, so I could still pay it off, pay the lawyer and buy food/gas. The told me it was already as low as possible. So I went through a debt relief company to pay it off. I told USAA specifically what I was doing and asked if/how it would effect my ability to continue use of their products. I was told by two different representatives that I would only not be able to get new products until the account was paid or back in good standing. Well 6 months later the locked all my access down and I had to call to get anything done. Basically I was lied to, so I immediately wired everything to my old credit union, switch all insurance to progressive (which saved me $640 a year) and closed everything except my life insurance account.

Sorry for the rant, but I warn people against the USAA Corporation, they are not the same as they were 15 years ago, they care more about $$$$$ and snatching up new recruits than the member like they used to. So F*** them.

I've had progressive for 20 years, never had any issues but been getting the feeling lately their jerking me around in rates. Never had any claims on them, just getting an uneasy feeling lately.

This is my retirement shadow box and shot glasses made from brake pucks. If you know what ribbons and medals are which, you can tell how long I was in and generally where I've been.2729ad6b65b220f9fde496d9b0bb1735.jpg
