Went to farm yesterday and decide to hand jam my mpg. 320mi @75-80mph mostly hills, some driving around the farm and quite a bit of idling “it’s hot and my truck was cool” lol. Anyways evic says 12.7 average. My hand cal was wait for it........12.6:gr_grin: I’ll try it again but I was glad it was that close. I don’t worry about mpg but I was curious

That's pretty close. I've been hand calculating mine since day 1 (just for the fun of it) and mine is never closer the 1mpg high and up to almost 4 worst case.

I had been checking mine for a while and it was within +- 1 mpg.

Hot damn, that is a huge difference. Usually when mine says 18.9, I am a little over 17 mpg.

Yeah, 1mpg +/- is about the delta I see if I bother......maybe 0.8 one time and like 1.3 another but I also rarely do back to back full tanks to hand calc.

Wether or not mine is accurate seems to be speed dependent. I’ve had trips where I was around 65mph most of the time be really accurate. On this trip most of the highway speed limits were 75/80/85. That seems to make it a bigger liar.

Looking at the last 23 fill-ups, you can tell that mine is consistently off.

Ram mileage 7-18.PNG

Mines runs about 1.5 mpg higher and sometimes closer , Not a big deal since I have done hand calculations for years !

It’s close enough I think even if it’s off it’s not worth my time to hand jam it. Curiosity got the best of me. Fill and go :893Chainsaw-Smilie-

You don't report mileage on taxes for your farm? That is why do with my aCar app which also syncs with Fuelly. Helps me keep track of when my truck is used for farm use and when it is used for personal. Same with my car since I use it for work travel at least once a month. My company pays $.50 a mile which puts me way ahead since it only uses $.07 a mile.

Ahh!

I do my own taxes and hate digging through receipts at the end of the year. Plus the app puts it all in excel or graph form at the touch of a button if I want to view any trends.

On another note, I just spent my anniversary up in a cabin in your neck of the woods north of Fredericksburg a few weeks ago. I always love spending time in the area attending the small town rodeos like Stonewall or enjoying a few beers over in Luckenbach while listening to the locals play. Actually one of my favorite Robert Earl Keen concerts was at the Stonewall rodeo many moons ago. He was so drunk he could hardly sing Corpus Christi Bay.

Lol. Yeah it’s quite fun here. Lots of beer and wine. My farm is north of here 2hrs in Comanche county. Have small lease here for some calves to keep me busy. I. Ready for the meetup
